Lydmar Hotel, Stockholm, Sweden

Very cool design hotel in the middle of Stockholm, Sweden. When entering the hotel restaurant it feels like you are in a luxurious living room with high end classic furniture’s and artefacts from all over the world. I love the fact that they even have board games that you can use.

If you find yourself board during a Sunday afternoon then you should try out Lydmar Hotel in its restaurant were live jazz music will be played.

The food price is reasonable with a standard wine list. The restaurant staffs are friendly and professional and the interior is great. Something to notice are the rooms in this hotel. They are very nice and fashionable with individual satisfaction because each room is different from the other. I like the fact that upon booking you can request for a certain room number and have a favourite room to stay in.

The Best Champagne Brunch

There is no other place in the world that you can find a better price with a greater Sunday brunch than in Beijing, China. The pool of choices when it comes to Champagne Brunch is insane and almost every one of them offers free flow Champagne for around 500-700 RMB (around 90 US Dollars). The Champagne is not bad, you can get all kinds of brands from Moet Chandon, Mumm, Veuve Clicquot, Duval Leroy and Pommery. It is amazing how the hotels can even make it happen. When we tried the Westin Sunday Brunch in Chaoyang the selection is way beyond grand. It is enormous, it offers lobster, caviar, Beijing duck, ribs, bbq and a dessert area that is as big as 30 sqm room. Not only will you get free flow Champagne you also will also be given cocktails, different vodkas to your caviar and wine to your fresh oysters. I love Beijing Sunday Champagne Brunch.

I must say that my favourite brunch is at Westin Chaoyang because it is the biggest one but also the best entertainment. However if I would go for high end quality a bit more stiff audience and more quite brunch than I would go to Ritz Carlton in Dawang Lu.

Restaurant Review: Bakfickan Djuret, Stockholm, Sweden

If you are a meat person, not afraid of small portions and love top notch posh dining that is not to upper-class and still casual, then look no further. Bakfickan Djuret is amazing with its very cool and stylish interior. When you walk into this restaurant you feel that you have step into a fine dining slaughter house with traditional meat grinders as lamps and old meat scales as detailed interior design. Everything gives you an impression as if you are in a place that will serve you great meat dishes. The restaurant actually has a meat theme every month and changes the main ingredient. Sometimes you can find yourself with pork, beef or dear. It all depends on the chefs’ order.

They also have a rolling wine list that is constantly updating. Currently at this time (10th of August 2011) they have 1212 different wines. Very nice!

The price range varies from 150- 500 SEK and it is well worth the money.

My restaurant review grade is:

Grade 4 of 5

Restaurant Review: Chateau Cafe Foret, Helsingborg, Sweden

It has been a long time since I have tried a decent home style restaurant in Sweden. The food is exceptional with fresh and high quality raw materials. I love the breakfast which you have to try when visiting. If you want a more luxury version, do take a glance at the paired champagne with your breakfast.

The sandwiches are very good and are a must if you are looking for a quick bite, otherwise their lunch is absolutely wonderful. They even have a great bakery with freshly made bread, pastries and other sweets to indulge yourself with.

Chateau Cafe Foret is a must to visit in Helsingborg and if I am back in town I will for sure visit it again.
