The Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort has
one of southern Thailand’s biggest pools, a great range of excellent dining and
a peaceful spa. It’s grand Victorian Thailand style with teak floors, regency
lampshades and colonial-style furniture makes it an impressive place for
relaxation.
You will find Sofitel a short drive from Ao Nang,
amongst the tranquility of the tropical gardens and across the road from the
shores of the Andaman Sea.
There are plenty of options to enjoy the excellent
cuisines, you have the Italian Ristorante Venezia with an open show kitchen that
delivers superb authentic fresh food. Every dish is well prepared and you leave
with a hunger for more. Unfortunately the service is not always at its best,
not fully attentive staff, but their friendliness and the delicious food make
you linger.
White Lotus restaurant gives you a selection of Thai
and Indian cuisine, with a longing for the distinguished flavors. The service
is excellent and every one of the well-dressed staff is making an effort to
make you feel at home. The flavors are distinct and every bite is full of
aromas.
The Hemingway Club Lounge & Library have a range
of cigars, delicious cocktails and an entertainment that’s suitable for a jazzy
calm evening.
Café Vienna offers you a coffee on the go or a
luscious pastry to soothe your sweet tooth.
The pool bar is excellent for a cocktail on the swim,
a cool retreat from the gazing sun. It also offers a range of easy comfort food
for a light lunch or a snack next to your sun bed.
The hotel rooms all with balcony or terrace are clean
and light. The only negative aspect is that maybe the terrace on the ground
floor rooms are a bit small and could need an update. But the rooms are well
sized and offers a nice air-conditioned getaway from the hot sun. The
possibility to book a room with pool access is excellent and a much appreciated
feature. You literally have the pool on your doorstep.
Sofitel Krabi is very family friendly and the pool is
very popular amongst all ages. The service of the hotel stretches from the
hotel premises to the beach and also services in town. They are happy to try
and meet your expectations and requests.
All in all we can say that Sofitel Krabi Phokeetra
Golf and Spa Resort is a must visit when in south Thailand. You won’t get
disappointed with neither the food, the service or the closeness to beach and
an amazing pool.
